BIG EAST TOUR POINTS REQUIREMENTS:
Revision: 2025.03.23
- Base Points:
- 1st place: 100 points
- 2nd place: 95 points
- 3rd place: 90 points
- Points decrease by 5 for each subsequent position.
- Division Participation Multiplier:
- If a division has more than 8 participants, each participant’s points will be multiplied by 1.25 (125%) to reflect the increased competition level.
- Elite Tournament Multiplier:
- If the tournament reaches 40 or more registrants by the close of registration (as shown on the Disc Golf Scene), it will receive an “Elite” status.
- For Elite tournaments, each participant’s final points score will be increased by an additional 1.25 (125%).
- Under-Par Bonus:
- A 10-point bonus will be awarded to participants who finish the course under par. (Note: an even score does not qualify for this bonus.)
- Scoring will be in the following order: Base Points, Division Multiplier, Elite Multiplier, and Under-Par Bonus.
Example: Here’s how the scoring would break down for someone who wins the MA1 division with 9 participants in a tournament with 45 registrants:
- Base Points for winning: 100 points
- Division Participation Multiplier:
- Since there are more than 8 participants in the MA1 division, the score is multiplied by 1.25.
- Calculation: 100×1.25=125
- Elite Tournament Multiplier:
- Because the tournament has over 40 registrants, it qualifies as an Elite tournament, and the score receives an additional 1.25 multiplier.
- Calculation: 125×1.25=156.25
- Final Score:
- 156.25 points
If this player also finished the course under par, they would receive a 10-point bonus:
- 156.25 + 10 = 166.25 points
166.25 points is the highest possible score a participant could achieve in one tournament.
BIG EAST TOUR AWARDS REQUIREMENTS:
Revision: 2025.03.25
—> Overall Points and Division Master Award
- Eligibility: Participants must compete in at least two events to qualify for the award.
- Award Focus: Points are calculated based on total points earned across events, not the number of events entered.
- Awards: Separate Overall Points Master Awards will be given to the top-scoring female and male participants.
- Tiebreaker: In case of a tie in overall points, the number of events participated in will serve as the tiebreaker.
—> Division “Best Two” Award
- Eligibility: To qualify, participants must compete in at least two events during the season.
- Award Criteria: The award will be based on each participant’s two best performances.
- Restrictions: Participants who only competed in one event are not eligible for the award.
—> No BET Final
For the 2025 season, the Big East Tour (BET) will not host a Final event. While previous seasons culminated in a championship-style finale, this year’s structure will focus exclusively on individual tour stops. This adjustment allows for greater flexibility in event planning and ensures that all efforts focus on improving the quality and experience of each tournament. Players will still have the opportunity to compete on the full schedule slate of events, with points and rankings continuing as usual.
We appreciate the continued support of our players, organizers, and fans and look forward to an exciting competition season.
